Downloading and Installing FEAR

FEAR Combat has been a free game since the fall of 2006, and was previously only playable by purchasing the full disc copy of FEAR, released in the fall of 2005. It is truly a timeless game and we would like to see more people playing it. If you are a new player and are interested in playing the game, please read this article to help you get from downloading to fragging up a storm as quickly as possible.

Sierra and Warner Bros used to provide a website where players could get a free multiplayer CD Key and download FEAR Combat, however this website no longer works (more info here). Please note that the keys provided by FEAR-Community will only work on SEC2 servers. This is for the best though, as SEC2 offers additional anti-cheat protection and administration commands which generally provide a better experience for everyone in the server.

Now that you have downloaded and installed the game, you should take the time to optimize your graphics settings so that you are playing with maximum clarity, precision, and visibility by using the same settings configuration used by FEAR pros.
